Clinic '25 - Touch Rugby
Clinic '25 - Touch Rugby
The Caledonian Thebans are excited to host our annual Rugby Clinic in Edinburgh. Clinic ‘25 will bring teams together from across the UK and Europe to beautiful Edinburgh, the home of Scottish Rugby. Clinic ‘25 will focus on fundamental skill development for new players, making lifelong friends and loving inclusive rugby. Clinic ‘25 will be 16th – 19th October 2025.
The Caledonian Thebans have this year introduced our Touch section, The Caledonian Thebans Midas! To celebrate this, we are bringing touch to Clinic ‘25!
It was amazing to see teams and players from across the UK, Ireland, and Europe at Clinic 2024. We hope this year will be just as fantastic! The Clinic will be spread across 4 days and will allow players to play rugby, make connections, explore the city, and enjoy the themed after party that cannot be missed!
Clinic structure:
Thursday - Evening: Registration
Friday - Day: Clinic Training | Evening: Team Night
Saturday - Day: Clinic Tournament | Evening: After Party
Sunday - Day: Kangaroo Court
Lunch will be provided on Friday and Saturday. All venues and events are to be confirmed and all participants will be updated in due course.
Clinic ‘25 Gender Participation Statement
We completely and unequivocally welcome players of any gender and all experience levels to Clinic ‘25. Rugby is for all and the Caledonian Thebans will always promote this wherever and whenever possible. We support trans players playing rugby as their authentic selves and continue to vocally oppose policies which do not live up to the inclusive values of our club and the wider IGR community.
Despite strong opposition, the Scottish Rugby Union (SRU) continue to impose trans exclusive guidelines upon rugby in Scotland through their SRU Gender Participation Policy. As a result, trans women and AMAB non-binary individuals are unable to play in contact rugby matches with cis women.
For trans men and AFAB non-binary individuals, eligibility to play with cis men is dependent on where an individual may be in the process of medical transition. SRU guidelines state that trans men and AFAB non-binary individuals are permitted to play rugby with cis women only if their assigned sex at birth was female AND ‘hormone treatment has not commenced’.
The full SRU Gender Participation Policy can be found here. Please read this carefully and make sure you understand fully before purchasing your Clinic ‘25 ticket(s).
